Dogs live in the now.
Because of his notion of time, he has difficulty associating
a behaviour to something, which has happened a few seconds
before. No matter how far away your dog is, whether he believes
you are there or not, the spray has an immediate effect, that
is, a direct link is created between the spray and the bad
behaviour, simply because the spray is used at the precise
moment bad behaviour is displayed. It is no longer necessary
to use a loud, angry voice with the dog, or to strike him with
a leash. A fearful dog is not one that is receptive to training.
The dog readily associates the disruptive effect of the spray
to his behaviour, and not the master.
For more effective training without the negative effects of punishment
With Spray Commander the dog no longer fears the master, nor is he confused of
what is not permitted. A relationship based on rewards is by far healthier than
that which is based on verbal or physical correction. |
